How long have you been a member of Club J?

Not sure, though we are in our tenth year of being J fans.  I was first at the property in the mid-80s when it was Piper Sonoma. Was visiting the wine country from Alaska, where I grew up and began my career.

What do you like best / enjoy about Club J?

We thoroughly enjoy the J experience and the treatment we receive from the cast of characters on the J staff.

The hospitality is friendly, superb, always!! Can't single out anyone in particular, all are terrific!!

The Bubble Room is our favorite. We are there monthly and with every menu change.

It's great to stop by for our club pickups, to celebrate something, or just because...

What is your favorite J Wine & Food Pairing?

We like to experience all of Mark's pairings.  The "chocolate" menu was terrific. Who would of "thunk" you could use chocolate the way that Mark did?!

It's great that the recipes are available. We do "try this at home," often.

Special Interests you would like to share about you.

Being virtually retired, we like to travel the highways visiting family, friends and wine areas around the country. And, not necessarily in that order!!

This small-production Chard is a real success for J. It’s comprised of their best fruit from warmer and cooler parts of the valley. Star Listing for J Sparkling & Varietal Wines from Ronn Wiegand of Restaurant Wine

An excellent Chardonnay in an elegant, soft, complex style. It is full bodied, smoothly textured, long on the palate, and persistent on the finish, tasting of peach, grapefruit, vanilla, toast, pineapple, and lemon. Long aftertaste. BF, 40% new French oak, ML. Great value.


Fine Pinot Gris, in a full bodied, crisp, moderately intense style. It is round, nearly dry, and long on the palate, with apple, grapefruit, yellow plum, and lemon grass flavors. Unwooded.


Light pale yellow color. Fruity and complex in style, this wine has lemon peel, apple, honey, pineapple, and grapefruit character, with overtones of roasted nut and modest oak. Crisp and long on the palate, with a persistent finish. Excellent value.
49% Pinot Noir, 49% Chardonnay, 2% Pinot Meunier. 25% barrel aged. Aged 3+ years on the yeast.


Wonderful sparkling rose. Pale salmon pink color. Fragrant and complex in aroma, this is a medium bodied, supple wine, with firm underlying acidity, and a very long finish, tasting of plum, roasted nut, baked cherry, rosehips, pineapple, and lemon peel.
56% Pinot Noir, 44% Chardonnay. Aged 3 years on the yeast.
